Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities
About Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities
We are the Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WyCBDD). Locally we are much better known to our community as Angeline—named in honor of one our early founders Mrs. Angeline Eyestone.
Wyandot County’s Developmental Disabilities (DD) services are provided and/or administered through the following:
Angeline School
Angeline Industries
Individual/Family Support Services (IFSS)
Service & Support Administration (SSA)
Residential/Home & Community Based Waiver Services
We are the organization primarily responsible for serving children and adults with developmental disabilities in Wyandot County, Ohio.
Our mission is “Working in partnership with Wyandot County citizens with developmental disabilities, their loved ones, and our community to provide services and support necessary to achieve a life that is meaningful, safe, and healthy.”
Services to Children
Our program providing services to children with developmental disabilities and their families is called the Angeline School. It is our belief, based on sound research and evidence, that the earlier we are able to intervene with children and families experiencing a developmental disability the more positive the outcome. We provide these services as efficiently and effectively as possible through such programs as Early Intervention, P.L.A.Y. Project (Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters), Responsive Teaching, and state licensed special education preschool and school-age services.
Adult Services
Our program providing services to adults with developmental disabilities is called Angeline Industries. We recognize and respect that each person is unique and has her/his own needs, preferences, and priorities. Therefore our services to adults are comprehensive and include such programs as sheltered employment, supported employment, community employment, volunteer/service-oriented opportunities, community recreation, and adult skills training and continuing education.
Administration & Governance
We are an entity of Wyandot County government, established by the Ohio Revised Code in 1967. The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities is governed by a seven (7) member volunteer board of directors—five of whom are appointed by the Wyandot County Commissioners and two appointed by the Wyandot County Probate Court Judge. The board members are responsible to hire a Superintendent who serves as the organization’s chief administrative officer.
