City of Galion

The City of Galion serves approximately 10,500 residents through an annual operating budget of $26 million. Under a mayoral-council form of government, all city departments work together to provide vital services, including: police and fire protection, emergency medical services, street and park maintenance, and water and sewer line maintenance.

The City also operates an electric distribution system supplied by American Municipal Power. It manages electric, water, sewer and storm sewer accounts for nearly 6,000 customers. The Building and Zoning Department conducts residential inspections and issues permits for various projects. The Galion City Health Department provides public health programs like immunization clinics and school nursing.
